SYNOPSIS : A behind the scenes look at a production of the play Good Kids by Naomi Iizuka at the University of Iowa from the first reading on December 1st 2014 to the final run on February15th, 2015. Good Kids, loosely based on the 2012 events in Steubenville, Ohio that involved the rape of a 16 year old girl by the members of the high school football team, this play deals with some of the hot button issues of attitudes towards women and the exposed world of social media. Narrated by Allyson Malandra this documentary features rehearsal footage and in depth interviews with the director, dramaturg and cast members about bringing attention to important issues that must be discussed. A surprisingly upbeat and inspirational look at dealing with such serious topics.Ratings
